 ADT Department Ofsted quote: "The quality of provision in Art and Design is very good with the work being overwhelmingly creative. " Art and Design Technology are separate National Curriculum subjects, but they are closely linked. The principal aim in Art is creativity and expression, whereas that for Design Technology is product design, quality of manufacture and consumer satisfaction. Both subjects, however, have at their heart, the interaction between the mental image and what can be produced. The subjects are taught by four specialist staff in purpose equipped rooms. Group sizes, time allocation and resourcing are all better than the national average. High quality products have always been a hallmark of these areas and most pupils are eager to take their work home. The school has an excellent collection of works of Art and these are used to good effect in the pupils' work. See below for examples of pupil work. |
